Georg Puchberger

Georg is a mechanical engineer and focuses primarily on IP strategies and patent infringement matters across all fields of engineering, in particular in the areas of mechanical engineering, mobility and drive systems, infrastructure and construction, additive manufacturing (3D printing) and advanced manufacturing, automation and robotics, energy technology and decarbonization, medical technology, food technology, as well as materials engineering.

In addition, he specializes in trademark and design protection, with a particular focus on strategies for the long-term protection of technologies and products.

Combining engineering expertise with in-depth IP knowledge, he provides strategic advice on IP-oriented product development as well as on technical design-around solutions. Further areas of focus include strategic competitor analyses and advising on patent infringement matters.

He studied mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), specializing in automotive engineering. Since 2013, he has been a European Patent Attorney, and since 2015 an Austrian Patent Attorney as well as a European Trademark and Design Attorney. Since 2022, he has also been admitted as a European Patent Litigator before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

He is a member of the Board of the Austrian Chamber of Patent Attorneys and serves on the board of FICPI Austria.
